COTANCE Urges the European Commission to Review the Timeline for the implementation of the EUDR Information System

On May 17, 2024, COTANCE together with 13 other European industrial organizations concerned by the EUDR sent a letter to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, urging her to address concerns about the unpracticable timeline for the implementation of the EUDR Information System.

The letter highlights critical areas where the EUDR Information System needs improvement, including the handling of large data volumes, API integration, and file size limitations that risk not being ready for concerned supply chains needs.  The organisations emphasize the importance of a timely and functional stress-test to ensure the avoidance of eventual supply chains disruptions and damage to the competitiveness of European businesses.

COTANCE and the other signatories remain ready to collaborate closely with the Commission to refine the system.
