Photo contest – Official Rules

New deadline for the sending of photographs: 19 April 2017

The competition is open to tannery workers and to students enrolled in leather tanning education. Participation is allowed once the tannery has explicitely authorized workers to take photographs of their workplaces. Restrictions may apply. Internal rules should be respected as well as safety and security regulations.
Participants must be over 18.

The photographs sent within the Leather is my Job competition can be used to illustrate and promote tannery jobs. Copyrights will be retained by COTANCE.

The Photo Contest ends at 11:59pm CET on 19 April 2017. Entries submitted after that date will not be eligible.

The theme of the contest is “Work in tanneries”. Images should depict leather production in any of its stages. Please respect safety and security regulations.
If you choose to include people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary releases from the individuals depicted, and must be able to provide copies of those releases to COTANCE upon request.
Entries must be submitted electronically in jpg format preferably (gif and bmp are also accepted) and should not be larger than 10 MB.
All images must be submitted by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , including name, tannery name, position, employer authorization form, email and other information about your photo submission. One entry only per participant. COTANCE reserves the right to reject any entries that do not comply with these Official Rules.
By entering, you indicate your unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and COTANCE and industriAll joint decisions, which are final and binding.

5 May: End of votes on Facebook / Selection of the LIMJ winners

8 May: Announcement of the winners


Leather is my Job!-Prize: Photos will be judged on originality, composition, artistic merit and subject matter relevance to leather manufacturing. Judging will be conducted by the partners of the Leather is my Job project. The final decision will be taken by COTANCE and industriAll.
The winner will receive 250€ - The runner-up will receive 100€.
The Public prize will be determined based on which of the photographs receives the most votes (“likes”) on Facebook.  The winner will receive 100€.
All three winners will be invited to the Final Conference of the project that will take place in Igualada (Spain) on 8 June 2017. Travel and one hotel night will be paid.
The winners will be notified on 8 May 2017 via the contact information provided at the time of entry.
All judging decisions are final. Please do not contact us about the status of entries or judging.
